a Danish king. (b) You dream in ringtones. (c) You've considered naming your third kid "Treo."
It turns out mobile devices can be used for more than Aeroprise. We know this may come as a surprise but work with us here. In that spirit, this month we offer our list of the top five coolest things you can do with your mobile device.
Over the past year as handset shipments have soared, so have the number of creative uses for them. Here are the five we like best:
- Navigation: Your device knows more than you think. Popular search engines now offer impressive mobile search services. For instance, enter "50265 sushi" into Google Mobile to find the best sashimi in Des Moines, Iowa.

- Childcare: Get notified when your kids play hookie. A new service from FamilyFirst Alerts being marketed to school districts sends you a text message whenever your son or daughter doesn't show up for class or when there is an emergency on campus.

- Digital Remote Control: Talk about convergence. Your handheld will soon be a universal remote control. Manage your TV, VCR, cable box, and DVD player all from your PDA.

Aeroprise Index of Wireless Activity
Good job, loyal readers. After last month's IOWA exposé, you pushed the index up 23.2% this month. Well, you and a lot of M&A activity (see QCOM, GOOG, and SY) combined with positive announcements from Google about its mobile strategy and Sprint-Nextel about the completion of their merger.
This month, the index closed at 211.5. This represents the second largest one-month gain since its inception.

Tip of the Month: Control Device Behavior
Your users access Aeroprise from a variety of devices. Who's using which one and how can you guarantee you're taking advantage of their unique capabilities?
Here's how:
From your Administration Console, select "Device Profiles" in your User Interaction tab. You'll see a list of all the devices that have logged into Aeroprise and which display style is being associated with each. You can also set device-specific behavior such as "maximum menu size" and "alerting mechanism". From your "Display Styles" tab, you can view and modify how your mobile apps will appear on various devices. These are powerful tools that help you give your users the best mobile experience possible - without hiring a team of wireless engineers.
